We’ve shed a lot of blood to be a free nation. It took vision, conflict, faith that there could be a better way, and guts. Was it worth it to become 13 independent colonies years ago? I think all Americans would say absolutely. Was it worth it to become 3 colonies known as Canada years ago on July 1? I think all Canadians would say absolutely too. And today, we still challenge each other everyday with different ideas, religions, legal interpretations, morals. We are a work in progress.
As you celebrate the 4th of July with family and friends, perhaps you can give a brief thought to your financial freedom as well. For many, it takes guts to face those numbers and reality for the first time. Sometimes there’s a lot of conflict between couples because you think and talk about money differently. Imagine what your life would be without scrambling to cover an overdraft, making the next bill, wondering where your huge paycheck goes or just never saving despite best intentions. When you have a vision that financial freedom means peace of mind, having control, and knowing you’re going to get there, then you’re ready to fight.
Wishing you a wonderful 4th of July.
